Through its recently established Living Local Fund of $20 million, the State has promised to contribute $180,000 to the Vincent Crescent Neighbourhood Renewal Project, it was announced last month.

With the Living Local Grants, it is said that councils and community groups will be able to revitalise their local shopping strips, community centres and public spaces. This will increase their liveability and social connections.

The placemaking initiative at Vincent Crescent will be completed with the promise of improving safety in the precinct by beautifying the public realm and adding additional lighting.

Vincent Crescent in Werribee is well known locally for its small local shopping strip, often plagued with outdoor alcohol consumption.

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas said, The Government is supporting Werribee with the Living Local Fund – because we know the community deserves good infrastructure, programs and services to grow and thrive.”
