
The Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government have announced that they will provide $400,000 for upgraded flood lighting at the Wyndham Warriors BMX Club.
The Shadow Minister for Finance, Planning and Heritage, and Suburban Recovery Ryan Smith MP made the announcement on the weekend.
The Wyndham Warriors have a wide range of members across all ages and has been seeking upgraded lighting for many years to improve facility accessibility and use for riders.
Wyndham Warriors BMX Club President Gary Morgan told Wyndham TV, “Throughout winter we lose participation and stuggle to attract new members. Lighting will completely change this, allowing events all year round, and engaging the community.”
“The Warriors facility is set in the beautiful Heathdale wetlands will become a National standard facility once upgraded.”
Shadow Minister for Sport, Cindy McLeish, said this commitment would help support the needs of Wyndham Warriors and all of its members now and into the future.
‘“Local sporting clubs play a vital role in community recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. This investment by the Liberals and Nationals backs grassroots sport and provides residents and families with a facility to be proud of.”
Liberal Candidate for Tarneit, Preet Singh, said it was important to continue to invest in grassroots sporting clubs like the Wyndham Warriors.

“Wyndham Warriors have been in operation for almost 15 years now and the club is in desperate need of upgraded lighting.”
“This much-needed funding will support this fantastic club and its riders to work towards improving the facilities and providing a better experience for all.”
Liberal Candidate for Werribee, Mia Shaw, said this announcement was a great investment in community grassroots sports.
“This upgrade will help continue to make Wyndham Warriors BMX Club one of the premiere sporting facilities in Wyndham.”
