A larger than life catafalque ANZAC soldier silhouette is being auctioned on e-bay in the hope of raising funds for the Werribee RSL.
The 2.5m x 0.94m creation, by Wyndham Vale resident Peter Kennedy, took two weeks to design and build during the current lockdown.
“I usually attend the dawn service at Station Place, in Werribee. This year, the global environment meant that we had to find another way to pay respect to those who served. I was incredibly grateful that my neighbours decided to hold a dawn service, and I was eager to contribute.”, Peter said.
Mr Kennedy says he created the soldier specifically for the dawn service that was held together with neighbours in their driveways on ANZAC day. The event was also live streamed on Wyndham TV and has been seen by over 9K viewers.
When asked what he would do with the creation after the service given the positive response from those who saw it, he decided to put it up for auction, with all the profits to be donated to the Werribee RSL.
If you would like to own this incredible piece and assist the Werribee RSL you can bid for it here on e-bay.
