On Sunday the 13th of March 2022 at around 12:05 am, Westgate Highway Patrol officers were patrolling Leakes Road in Truganina as part of the statewide traffic operation ARID, when they observed a Grey coloured Audi A5 Sedan traveling at more than double the speed limit.

The Audi was doing 115 Kmph over the speed limit, Southbound along Palmers Road, Truganina.
Police detected the vehicle travelling at an alleged speed of 175 kmph in a 60 kmph zone, along Palmers Road in close proximity to houses and roadworks zones.
The car was intercepted and impounded at a cost of $1,305.00 for a period of 30 days.
The driver, a 22-year-old male from Williams Landing who currently holds an international driver’s licence is to be charged and bailed with offences of Reckless Conduct Endangering Serious Injury, Speed Dangerous, Exceed Speed Limit by 45 kmph or more.
