Lockdown restrictions have eased, and now the race is on for some to get their Christmas shopping and postage organised.
Lockdowns have caused a huge strain on the postal system with many flights cancelled, interstate travel bans, and international travel bans.
So if you are sending any parcels via standard parcel post anywhere in Australia (except WA and NT) then you’ll need to have them sent off by the 13th of December, or the 20th of December if you are sending via express post.
For WA and NT the dates are 8th December for standard parcel post and 15th December for express post items.
If you are sending cards and letters (Regular Post):
Same state: Monday 20 December
Interstate: Thursday 16 December
International sending dates vary depending on the destination and the chosen delivery service. You can find out dates for each country here.
- International Christmas deliveries may be affected by factors like customs delays, overseas postal disruptions, and COVID-19 restrictions in other countries. It is recommended that you send your gifts as early as you can.
