Station Becomes A Tribute To Region
Thanks to the finesse and handiwork of Ayelet Brooks, Werribee Station is certainly worth taking a look at.
The Point Cook artist has just unveiled her latest public art project, Reflections of the Flow, which can be spotted on the station’s ramp.
The series of eight artworks features iconic places in Melbourne’s west: Werribee Mansion, Werribee Zoo, the State Rose Garden, Wyndham Harbour, the You Yangs, Point Cook Wetlands, Werribee Beach and the Werribee River.
The works were created using a collage technique, combining hand-painted paper, origami paper and magazine clippings.
Planes, swans and beachgoers are just a few of the scenes you will spot in this homage to local life.

A Series That Hopes To Inspire
“I hope the artworks bring a little colour and joy to everyone passing through the station, and perhaps inspire people to explore some of these beautiful places in Melbourne’s west,” Ms Brooks said.
“It has been such a pleasure working with the Metro Trains team, and I’m truly grateful for the artistic freedom I was given to create my vision.”
The artwork was installed as part of the Transporting Arts Program, a partnership between Transport Victoria, Metro Trains and Wyndham City.
Ms Brooks has certainly been leaving her mark around Wyndham lately, with Just a Wallflower, a four-collage series drawing on her childhood memories, having been installed at the Point Cook Town Centre in July.
