Around 25,000 Wyndham households will have their bin collection day changed as Wyndham City Council prepares to realign collection boundaries across the municipality.
The changes will take effect in October 2026 and will see existing collection zones adjusted to better reflect Wyndham’s current road network, population growth and demand for waste services.
The biggest shift will affect residents who currently have their bins collected on Tuesdays and Fridays. Most Tuesday collections will move one day earlier to Monday, while most Friday collections will shift to Thursday.
Other households across Wyndham may also experience changes to their collection day or servicing arrangements as part of the new boundaries.
Council says the realignment is designed to make collection routes more efficient by reducing travel time and fuel consumption, while providing more consistent waste collection services across the growing municipality.
There will be no change to the types of waste services households currently receive. General waste, recycling and green waste services will continue, with the changes limited to when and how collection routes are scheduled.
Residents affected by the changes will need to take note of their new collection day ahead of the October switch.
