Get Ready for a Rosy Spectacle in Victoria's State Rose Garden
Witness the splendour of the Victoria State Rose Garden in full bloom this spring, as Wyndham City’s State Rose & Garden Show returns to Werribee Park on the 11th and 12th of November. Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre, extends a warm invitation to residents to join in this beloved event and fully immerse themselves in the garden’s beauty.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a novice, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The event offers an array of attractions, including captivating gardening exhibits, enticing plant stalls, informative workshops, guided tours, live music performances, delectable food trucks, and much more. As Cr McIntyre notes, it’s a unique opportunity to explore the Victoria State Rose Garden, guided by knowledgeable garden volunteers, participate in engaging gardening workshops, and even relish the chance to picnic amidst the enchanting roses.
Cr Marcel Mahfoud, the Creative City portfolio holder for Wyndham City, promises an exciting and revamped program for this year’s event. The Gardeners’ Dome will feature presentations by many acclaimed gardening experts.
Furthermore, the event will include a Green Hub dedicated to sustainable living and gardening practices, featuring stalls run by experts in the field.
There will be a workshops & café area where you can engage in free, hands-on workshops, encompassing activities like crafting flower crowns and posies, learning the art of beekeeping, trying your hand at painting terracotta pots, collecting native seeds, participating in a nature play program designed for kids, and even getting the opportunity to create your own terrarium or kokedama.
Visitors will be entertained with breathtaking, gravity-defying performances from above. Additionally, a diverse range of mouthwatering food options will be available to savour, as mentioned by Cr Mahfoud.
The State Rose & Garden Show is open to individuals of all ages and comes at no cost. However, a gold coin donation is encouraged to support the dedicated Victoria State Rose Garden Supporters, who volunteer their time to preserve the garden’s beauty.
