Dozens of bus routes face cancellation
A major bus strike is set to disrupt public transport across Melbourne’s north-west and western suburbs on Tuesday, 1 July, with reduced or cancelled services expected on dozens of routes.
The industrial action will affect routes 150–192 and 400–544, impacting key suburbs across the Brimbank, Wyndham, Hume, Hobsons Bay, Melton, and Whittlesea regions.
In Sydenham and Sunshine, buses will continue to operate but at reduced frequency. However, Wyndham, Werribee, Altona, and surrounding areas are expected to face a complete halt in bus services on the day of the strike.
Commuters in Geelong, Ballarat, and Mildura may also experience disruptions as the industrial action stretches beyond Melbourne’s metropolitan boundary.
Despite the strike, school buses, trains, and trams will continue to run as normal.
Travellers are urged to check route information and plan ahead via the Public Transport Victoria website at www.ptv.vic.gov.au.
