Car thief bailed again

In short:

A 19-year-old Hoppers Crossing man has been charged with committing an indictable offence while on bail after two teenagers allegedly ran from a stolen car in Tarneit. A 16-year-old was cautioned over the same incident.

Stolen Corolla Spotted in Tarneit

Police allege they spotted a stolen white Toyota Corolla on Apricot Circuit, Tarneit, about 4.25pm on 25 July.

Officers moved in on the vehicle, and the two occupants allegedly abandoned it on nearby Wing Circuit before attempting to flee on foot. Both males were arrested a short distance away.

It’s the latest in a string of stolen-car incidents to hit Wyndham this year, following the pursuit detailed in Cop Cars Rammed Ending Wyndham Crime Spree.

Knives and a Hatchet Located

A search of the pair allegedly turned up knives and a hatchet in their possession.

The alleged weapons haul adds to a run of charges against young offenders across the region this year, as covered in Adult Time For Teen Crime.
