Celebrating over 30 years of joyful music and the warmth of togetherness, Wyndham Carols by Candlelight will once again bring the community together on the Great Lawn on Saturday 9 December 2023.
In announcing the event, Wyndham Ministers Network Chair, Pastor Tim Loftis, shared his excitement at the return of the Carols after a long hiatus due to COVID-19.
“Wyndham Carols by Candlelight holds a warm place in the hearts of the local community, bringing families and friends – new and old – together on the Great Lawn at Werribee Park.
“The 2023 event is particularly special, having been four years since the last Wyndham Carols by Candlelight in 2019, and we cannot wait to see everyone come together, in the glow of our candles, and be part of this heartwarming tradition,” Pastor Loftis said.
Held on the majestic Werribee Mansion grounds, this celebration has become the largest carols gathering in Victoria outside of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl event, and organisers are anticipating over 6,000 people will attend the beloved tradition in December.
Brought to you by the Wyndham Ministers Network, the Wyndham Carols success is a true testament to collaboration and community spirit.
“What sets the Wyndham Carols by Candlelight apart is its unwavering commitment to community, and supporting our great city,” Pastor Loftis added.
A non-profit event from its inception, tickets prices are kept low thanks to the generous donations of local businesses and sponsors, without which the event could not run.
“This commitment of giving back has allowed the event to flourish year after year and has made it a symbol of unity, compassion, and hope. A beautiful message for this time of year.”
This year’s event will be a triumphant composition of tradition and new, with musical performances from exceptional local and renowned artists. This year also marks the return of the Nativity Procession which is unique to Wyndham Carols and loved by all. All attendees will be able to see the full procession of nativity story down the middle of the great lawn during the evening, including real camels and a donkey!

About Wyndham Carols by Candlelight
The Wyndham Carols by Candlelight is an annual musical event held at the historic Werribee Mansion in the City of Wyndham, Victoria. The event has grown to become the largest carols by candlelight gathering in Victoria outside of Melbourne’s Christmas event. Supported by the Wyndham City Council, Parks Victoria and the Wyndham Ministers Network, the event brings together thousands of attendees each year for a night of music, community, and one of the largest nativity displays in Australia.
