To celebrate the beginning of Plastic-Free July, the Werribee River Association are holding a Potluck and Plastic Free Party at the Wunggurrwil Dhurrung Community Centre.
The night will include a talk from the Werribee Riverkeeper about the health of the river, the impact of pollution and the solutions at hand.
There will also be a fantastic performance from The Orbweavers, whose music weaves in the stories of Melbourne’s Western volcanic plains and waterways.
The How Low Can You Go Challenge, an initiative to reduce waste in landfill through appropriate recycling, reusing, swapping, borrowing and repairing will be launched on the night as well.
If you are in a position to do so, you are encouraged to bring along a dish to share, otherwise there will be a big vegan curry cook-up, which will be available for everyone!
Free, but registration essential.
This event is part of Werribee River Association’s Sustainability Streets program, building resilient communities, connected to country.
