Homicide Squad detectives have released CCTV footage of three vehicles linked to a fatal incident in Wyndham Vale back in February. The footage captures the cars stopping on a nearby street just moments before the tragic event occurred.
Individuals from the vehicles are seen engaging in a discussion on the street before departing in the trio of cars. Detectives are eager to speak with anyone who can identify the vehicles or the individuals involved.
The appeal comes after an incident on February 11, where two men were killed and another seriously injured. Emergency services responded to a property on Carmichael Drive following reports of a stabbing and gunshots.
CHILLING: CCTV captured moments before shooting deaths.
The convoy of three vehicles arrived at the address shortly after 2:45 am. Several males emerged from the cars and approached five males in the property’s garage. Following a brief verbal altercation, shots were fired, and the victims were subsequently assaulted with bladed weapons.
Two men were found with fatal wounds at the property, identified as 29-year-old Atem Atem and 22-year-old Ayuel Akuei, both from Wyndham Vale. Another 23-year-old man from Wyndham Vale sustained life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. Two residents in the garage at the time were unharmed, although a pet dog on the premises was tragically shot.

Investigators believe the attack was a deliberate and gang-related incident. However, they now suspect that the victims were not the intended targets.
Since the incident, a thorough investigation involving specialized Homicide Squad and Gang Crime Squad investigators, along with local police, has been underway. Numerous interviews have been conducted, and extensive CCTV footage has been reviewed to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
Detectives hope that the release of the CCTV footage will yield new leads. They encourage anyone with information about the incident or the individuals involved to come forward. Information regarding the motive for the fatal attack is also of interest to investigators.
Individuals with further information are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
