Iconic Australian entertainer Christine Anu will help launch this year’s Wyndham Learning Festival, marking a decade of community learning and engagement.
The 2025 festival theme is A Decade of Discovery: Celebrating 10 Years of Learning, recognising ten years of free and inclusive events for residents of all ages.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, says Christine Anu is the perfect choice to kick off the milestone year.
“Christine Anu is one of Australia’s most popular recording artists and performers,” Cr Shaw said. “She will talk about her acclaimed 30+ year career that spans music, theatre, dance, film, television, radio, children’s entertainment and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.”
The launch event will take place on 24 August and will include a mini expo, First Nations Expo and a Craft Market.
The Wyndham Learning Festival itself runs from 1 to 7 September and offers more than 100 free events, workshops and activities. The week-long program includes cooking demonstrations, history and cultural sessions, tech and business skills workshops, as well as wellbeing and self-care classes.
Led by Wyndham Community & Education Centre and supported by Wyndham City, the festival aims to make learning accessible, fun and lifelong.
