Wyndham City is investing $9.5 million into the first stage, the Active Open Space. The planned amenities for this stage include an oval with a cricket pitch overlay, cricket nets, six tennis courts, a car park, playground, multi-use court, footpath network, shelter, BBQ and picnic facilities, landscaping, and exercise equipment.
The second stage of the project, currently in the design phase, involves the construction of the Modular Sports Pavilion. The pavilion is set to feature a social room, change rooms, storerooms, and a kiosk. Completion of the first stage is scheduled for late-2025.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This is an exciting milestone in our commitment to delivering first-class sport and recreational facilities.” She further noted the importance of such projects in meeting the needs of the growing community and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
The Manor Lakes North Reserve project aligns with the Manor Lakes North Reserve Masterplan and is part of the broader Wyndham Sports Strategy 2045.
Wyndham City has extended gratitude to the State Government for their $1,291,350 Growing Suburbs Fund grant and to Cricket Victoria for their $40,000 contribution to the project.
