Cop Cars Rammed Ending Wyndham Crime Spree

Truganina Service Station arrests

In short:

Six people – including two minors – have been charged following an alleged series of home invasions, burglaries and car thefts across Wyndham’s north-west this week. The arrests followed a police pursuit on Friday 26 June 2026 that ended when a stolen vehicle rammed four police cars at a Truganina service station.

Two children among those charged

Six people – including two children – have been charged following an alleged series of home invasions, aggravated burglaries and car thefts across Wyndham’s north-west this week, culminating in a dramatic pursuit that ended when a stolen vehicle rammed four police cars at a Truganina service station.

Members of the Westgate Divisional Response Unit and Alliance first sighted an allegedly stolen Mazda CX5 on Hummingbird Boulevard, Tarneit, about 6.10am on Friday  26 June 2026, with five people on board. Police tracked the vehicle briefly before losing sight of it.

Officers continued to patrol the area and relocated the Mazda on Delias Road, Tarneit, about 12.10pm. With assistance from the Police Airwing, the group was monitored as they moved through the suburb.

At 2.20pm, the Mazda stopped on Homestead Avenue, Tarneit. A passenger stepped out of the vehicle before the car continued. The 18-year-old man from Tarneit was swiftly arrested at that location.

The remaining four occupants then abandoned the Mazda on Homestead Avenue and transferred into another allegedly stolen vehicle –  a Hyundai i30. Police, again with Airwing support, followed the Hyundai through Newport, Altona North and Truganina.

At 4pm, the vehicle stopped at the Liberty service station on Leakes Road, Truganina, where multiple police units moved in. The driver allegedly rammed all four police units in an attempt to flee. All four vehicles were damaged, but no injuries were reported.

The four remaining occupants were arrested at the scene.

The six people charged are:

A 20-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing, alleged to have been driving the car, faces charges including home invasion (x2), aggravated burglary (x2), theft of a motor vehicle, and intentionally endangering an emergency service worker. He has been remanded and is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 27 June 2026.

A 22-year-old Werribee man faces charges of aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and obtaining property by deception. He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 27 June 2026.

An 18-year-old Tarneit man has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and handling stolen goods. He has been bailed to appear at Wyndham Magistrates’ Court on 25 August 2026.

A 20-year-old man from Tarneit has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and bailed to appear at Wyndham Magistrates’ Court on 25 August 2026.

A 15-year-old boy from the Wyndham area faces alleged charges of home invasion (x2), aggravated burglary (x2), and theft of a motor vehicle. He has been remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A 14-year-old boy from the Wyndham area has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The charges relate to four alleged incidents:

  • A home invasion on Rotino Crescent, Lalor, on 22 June 2026
  • An aggravated burglary on Edith Street, Tarneit, at 3am on 23 June 2026
  • An aggravated burglary on Barcelona Way, Tarneit, at 5.30am on 23 June 2026
  • A home invasion on Bolte Drive, Truganina, about 6am on 26 June 2026

The arrests come as home invasion and burglary offences continue to impact communities across Wyndham. Schools in Tarneit were locked down earlier this month after a nearby aggravated burglary prompted a major police operation, and three Wyndham teenagers were charged in May following a crime spree that included two gym burglaries and a stabbing that left a 15-year-old in a critical condition.

Anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the manner of driving is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
