Hundreds arrive before sunrise
Melbourne’s newest Costco warehouse officially opens its doors in Ardeer this morning. By sunrise, the car park was already filling up as hundreds of people queued patiently lining up well before 6am. Located approximately 17 kilometres from Wyndham, the store will welcome its first wave of shoppers at 8am on Wednesday, 9 April.
The Ardeer warehouse becomes the 15th Costco to open in Australia, and excitement has been building over the past few days, with locals visiting the site earlier in the week to secure memberships ahead of launch day.
The massive warehouse offers a wide range of products including fresh food, groceries, clothing, electronics, white goods, jewellery, and appliances. Some of the more unique deals on offer include 100-inch televisions, oversized teddy bears, golf carts, palm trees and go-karts.
Shoppers will also find a tyre centre, optical and hearing services, and a food court. The site is also home to Australia’s largest Costco fuel station, which began operating several weeks ago. The 38-pump facility offers unleaded 91, premium 98 and premium diesel.
The opening of Costco Ardeer marks another step in the US retail giant’s expansion into Melbourne’s growing western corridor.
