Major Works Wrap-up

Wyndham City Council has released an update on the major infrastructure projects completed across the municipality during the 2025/26 financial year, outlining more than $165 million worth of capital works.

The program included upgrades to roads, sporting facilities, parks, community centres and public spaces as the municipality continues to accommodate rapid population growth.

Among the largest completed projects was stage two of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion in Point Cook. The $16.1 million project added a new indoor multi-sport stadium, a netball pavilion, two new courts and other community facilities.

In Werribee South, work was also completed on the K Road Cliffs, with a new clifftop walking path, lookout points, upgraded visitor amenities and drainage improvements designed to improve access while helping reduce ongoing cliff erosion.

Road upgrades also featured prominently, including an $8.5 million upgrade of Old Melbourne Road, Rothwell Road and McLeans Road in Little River.

The council also completed Wyndham’s second athletics facility at Fortitude Drive Reserve in Truganina, opened new active open spaces at Polly Parade Reserve in Tarneit and Holyoake Parade Reserve in Manor Lakes, and finished the new Mossfiel Community Garden in Hoppers Crossing.

Playground and sporting upgrades were carried out across several suburbs, including improvements at Woodville Park in Hoppers Crossing, which now features Wyndham’s first We-Go Swing alongside other accessible play equipment.

Sports clubs also benefited from upgraded lighting, electronic scoreboards and new player facilities through the Active Revitalisation Program.

Council said work is continuing on several major projects, including the K Road reconstruction between Duncans Road and the K Road Cliffs, the Tarneit Road and Leakes Road intersection upgrade and the Ison Road project.

Dohertys House Café in Tarneit, Wyndham Vale North Reserve pavilion and a number of park and sporting facility upgrades across the municipality are also on the to-do list.
