Design Finalised for Werribee South Boat Ramp.

Werribee sth boat ramp

Servicing the largest boating population on the western side of Melbourne, the Werribee South boat ramp has had its upgrade design finalised.

As part of the upgrade the number of ramps will increase from 6 to 8 to improve the efficiency and speed of vessel launch and retrieval

The existing pontoons will be exended and realigned while increasing the number from 4 to 5 to enable greater temporary berthing capacity.

All abilities access will be provided by modifying the existing fixed jetty and floating pontoon adjacent to the ramp.

The current car parking arrangements will be realigned to create more rigging and tie-down space away from the main ramps and the reintroduction of the U-turn to the front of the vehicle queue to enable quicker retrieval of vessels

An additional entry lane will be created from Beach Road and an additional (3 total) waiting lanes to increase capacity and reduce queuing back to Beach Rd

Now the concept has been finalised, Better Boating Victoria will move to the next stage which includes obtaining approvals and converting the concept design into tender and construction-ready plans.

The Victorian Government has made all boat ramps in Victoria free for all Victorians to enjoy and Better Boating Victoria are currently progressing the biggest boat ramp infrastructure upgrade program in Victoria’s history with the dedicated new $33m Better Boating Fund.
