Community Input Shapes New Design
Artist impressions have revealed what the new Point Cook Community Hospital will look like — a modern, calming facility inspired by the natural landscapes surrounding the Point Cook town centre.
Construction is now underway on the three-storey hospital at 140 Dunnings Road, just moments from Stockland Point Cook. Operated by Western Health, the facility will feature a 160-space multi-deck car park for staff, patients and visitors, and deliver a range of everyday health services closer to home.
The hospital’s design has been shaped through consultation with the Point Cook Community Hospital consultative committee, which includes representatives from Mercy Health, IPC Health, Western Health, Wyndham City Council and local community members.
Creating a welcoming and accessible environment was a top priority, resulting in a design that features landscaped green areas, natural light-filled interiors, and a calming colour palette reflecting the local environment. Each level will include a central reception point for easy navigation, while treatment bays will overlook greenery to help reduce stress and support recovery.
Delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority in partnership with Western Health and builder Lendlease, the hospital forms part of the government’s more than $800 million Community Hospitals Program, which is also delivering new or expanded facilities in Mernda, Pakenham, Craigieburn, Phillip Island and Sunbury.
Once complete, the Point Cook Community Hospital will help ease pressure on major hospitals including Footscray and Sunshine by providing local access to healthcare and connecting residents with community, specialist and social support services.
