Stolen BMW pursued from Mambourin to Werribee

Four teenagers have been arrested after police allege a stolen BMW was pursued from Mambourin to Werribee, ending with the car bogged in bushland after a stop at a KFC drive-thru on Saturday night.

With the Police Air Wing assisting overhead, officers on patrol spotted the outstanding stolen blue BMW allegedly travelling at double the speed limit in a 50 zone on Armstrong Road, Mambourin, at about 10.50pm. Police held back and observed a passenger being dropped off at Wyndham Railway Station before the BMW continued through Wyndham to Werribee.

KFC order interrupted as police move in

The vehicle pulled into the KFC drive-thru near the intersection of Werribee Main Road and Princes Highway, where the driver allegedly placed an order before police units moved in. The BMW reversed out of the drive-thru and drove into an adjacent bush area, where it came to a halt, bogged in mud.

Four arrested, all to be interviewed

Officers arrested the alleged driver, a 16-year-old boy, and two passengers, 14-year-old boys, all from the Wyndham area. Another police crew arrested a 13-year-old boy from the Greater Geelong area at Wyndham Railway Station. All four will be interviewed.

Investigators allege the BMW was stolen from an address on Quinn Grove in Keilor East in the early hours of Saturday.

Latest in a string of stolen-car incidents

It’s the latest in a string of stolen-car incidents across Wyndham this year, following a two-night police blitz that saw 65 people charged and six stolen cars recovered, and a hit-run involving a stolen Toyota in Werribee in late July.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage or information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
