Wyndham’s infrastructure is not growing as fast as its population growth figures, according to Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Josh Gilligan.

The Australian Bureau of statistics says that Wyndham has the highest population growth in all of Victoria.

Residents of Wyndham consistently advise council that road congestion and poor public transport are priorities and according to council, years of underinvestment by the Victorian and Australian Governments has left us with a lot of catching up to do.

Demographic resources say that between 2016 and 2041, the population for the City of Wyndham is forecast to increase by 285,532 persons (125.75% growth), at an average annual change of 3.31%. … Some small areas may be rapidly growing whilst others are stable or even declining in population.

Council says that there are many issues and service gaps affecting our community and that they are largely dependant on other levels of government to fund and provide the infrastructure that the community needs.
