Following events involving a stolen car and a subsequent foot pursuit in Point Cook last night, police have arrested four males. A 16-year-old from Truganina, a 17-year-old from Werribee, and two 18-year-olds each from Tarneit and Point Cook.
Around 9:40 pm, an off-duty police officer observed a stolen Subaru Liberty on Overton Road, Williams Landing. Investigations reveal that the stolen car originated from Tarneit between January 24th and 25th. The officer later reported seeing the four individuals pushing the car along The Strand and Palmers Road, Point Cook.
The suspects allegedly abandoned the stolen vehicle in Annandale Mews before fleeing on foot. In a swift response, police vehicles flooded the area, and officers, with assistance from a K9 unit, established a perimeter.
By just after 11 pm, police successfully took the four individuals into custody in close proximity to the incident. During the apprehension, one of the youths sustained minor injuries from a dog bite and received immediate treatment at the scene.
All four individuals are currently cooperating with police inquiries.
