Speeding Driver Evades Police
Police are searching for a driver who allegedly reached speeds of around 120km/h through Wyndham before dumping a vehicle at Highpoint Shopping Centre
Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the incident, which began in Wyndham Vale on Thursday, 27 August.
The Police Air Wing first spotted a black Nissan X-Trail allegedly travelling at speed along Ballan Road about 10.45pm.
Police say the vehicle continued onto Heaths Road, where it was allegedly driven at around 120km/h in a 60km/h zone.
The X-Trail then continued towards Footscray before eventually being dumped at Highpoint Shopping Centre on Rosamond Road in Maribyrnong.
The male driver fled the vehicle on foot before police units arrived and searched the surrounding area.
Despite the search, the man was not located.
Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
