Energy Smart Wyndham Month: Free Sessions to Cut Power Bills

Save on power bills

Free sessions for smarter energy use

In an effort to promote energy conservation, Wyndham City Council has announced a series of free information sessions for its residents during the Energy Smart Wyndham month in May. The initiative aims to educate residents on how to reduce power bills and maintain comfortable living conditions throughout the year.

The sessions, to be conducted both in-person and online, were announced by Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw. “It is always good to review how we can save on household costs and how we can contribute to reducing our carbon footprint,” Cr Shaw said, underlining the dual benefits of the program.

Among the highlights of the sessions will be insights from home energy expert, Tim Forcey. Forcey will share tips on reducing overall energy costs, eliminating gas bills, and transitioning to renewable energy by adopting an ‘all-electric’ approach.

Residents interested in participating can find more information on the council’s website at www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/green-living-series.

The sessions scheduled include:

– “Learn to be Energy Smart and Shrink Your Power Bills” on Tuesday, 6 May from 7pm to 8:30pm. This free webinar will feature an expert environmental auditor teaching attendees how to conserve energy and save money.

– “My Efficient Electric Home with Tim Forcey” on Tuesday, 13 May from 7pm to 8:30pm. Forcey, the author of ‘My Efficient Electric Home Handbook’, will discuss the advantages of an all-electric home.

– “Learn from Locals: Energy Smart Success Stories” on Saturday, 24 May from 1pm to 3pm. This session will allow community members to share their successful experiences with solar power, electric vehicles, and other new technologies.
