The Wyndham Cultural Centre is pleased to present Sionnach Rua’s Great Irish Song Book on Friday 28 April at 7.30pm.
Come and experience the traditional culture of Ireland, with music and tales from Sionnach Rua that will have you feeling like you‘re in a pub on the Emerald Isle.
Marcel Mahfoud, Creative City portfolio holder for Wyndham City, said, “It’ll be a night of nostalgia for Ireland. Enjoy its unique culture here in Wyndham and come wearing your best green garb to join in the Irish camaraderie.”
The performance is a catalogue of Irish–born and raised frontman Gallie‘s music and stories. It will feature stories from his childhood in Ireland, as well as traditional tales and histories.
The show will bring listeners back to the days of old with a lively session of Celtic music, ranging from Planxty to Van Morrison to the Dubliners. Cr Mahfoud said, “This show will make you feel like you’ve taken a trip to Ireland without leaving the country.”
Joining Gallie (Vocal, acoustic guitar, bodhran) are renowned Australian multi–instrumentalists Ruth Wise (fiddle), Paddy Montgomery (bouzouki, guitar), and Sam Davies (uillean pipes, tin whistle, low whistle).
