
The Major Collision Investigation Unit are conducting an inquiry into a fatal crash in Point Cook this afternoon.
It is said that a car was spotted driving in an irregular manner on the Princes Freeway at around 1pm, and police attempted to intercept it, only to have the vehicle accelerate away from them.
The car then reportedly crashed into a barrier on Forsyth Road shortly afterwards, killing the female passenger and leaving the 35-year-old Wyndham Vale male driver with non-life-threatening injuries, who is presently under police custody.
