Man Charged Over Fatal Stabbing that Rocked Point Cook Resort

Homicide Squad detectives have today charged a man following a fatal stabbing in Point Cook yesterday.

Today, detectives from the Homicide Squad have pressed charges against an individual after a deadly stabbing incident in Point Cook yesterday. A 28-year-old man from Diggers Rest was questioned this morning and subsequently accused of various crimes, which encompass murder and the possession of amphetamines.

Homicide detectives have been investigating the personal dispute as the motive behind the tragic stabbing incident that unfolded at the Seasons5 Resort & Spa in Point Cook. The incident, which took place on Sunday afternoon, resulted in the death of a 35-year-old Point Cook man and a subsequent arrest of an alleged perpetrator.

Emergency services were summoned to the resort, situated along Point Cook Rd, at approximately 2:45 pm on Sunday in response to distressing reports of a stabbing incident. The victim, identified as a 35-year-old male, was found with stab wounds. Despite the desperate attempts of paramedics to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a confrontation between the victim and another individual transpired within the confines of the resort. The then alleged assailant, believed to have had a prior connection to the victim, was reported to have fled the scene in a vehicle, before crashing into another vehicle along Point Cook Rd. Wyndham TV has been advised by a reliable source that the crash was a completely unrelated incident.

Police however did swiftly arrive near the crash scene and arrested 28-year-old Anthony Ford from Diggers Rest. The individual was wearing blood-stained jeans. Present during the arrest were numerous residents who recounted the dramatic scene of the man being pinned down by officers before being detained for questioning.

Today, detectives from the Homicide Squad have pressed charges against Mr Ford after the deadly stabbing incident in Point Cook yesterday.

He did not apply for bail and was remanded to return to court on October 9.

An armed man went through the resort last year.

The Homicide Squad, accompanied by volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES), conducted a meticulous search of the surrounding bushes near the resort premises yesterday. Their objective was to locate the murder weapon that was purportedly used in the fatal attack.

Police and SES are also conducting a search in Point Cook today as part of this investigation.
