Residents of Truganina have been left stunned by a grassland fire that broke out near the corner of Leakes Road and Forsyth Road around 1.30pm this afternoon.
The fire is not yet under control, with nine fire vehicles currently on the scene and more on the way. Firefighters are doing their best to contain the blaze and ensure that property and people in the surrounding area are not affected by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the Fire Brigade will be investigating the matter and are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.
Residents in the area are being asked to keep their doors and windows closed and remain indoors until the fire is under control.
The Fire Brigade is urging everyone in the area to take extra caution, as the fire is not yet under control and could spread quickly if not contained.
