Swift Police Response Leads to Arrests in Early Morning Incident
In the early hours of this morning, police arrested four youths in connection with a serious home invasion that occurred in the Sanctuary Lakes estate in Point Cook.
Around 3:40 am, officers received a distress call from a resident on Sanctuary Lakes Boulevard, reporting a break-in at their residence and the theft of their Audi, which had transpired approximately 15 minutes earlier at 3:25 am.
In rapid response, ground units and the Air Wing were dispatched to the scene. The Air Wing spotted both the stolen Audi and a black Kia in the vicinity. Subsequently, these two vehicles proceeded onto the Princes Highway and appeared to be moving together in a coordinated manner along the freeway.
Upon investigation, authorities determined that the black Kia had been reported stolen in Burwood the previous Sunday evening.
Police successfully deployed tire-deflation devices, strategically placed near Duncans Road, leading to the immobilization of the Kia. At this point, the two occupants of the Kia transferred to the stolen Audi, which then sped away.
The Audi continued its journey towards the city, traversing through a tunnel and onto the M1, only to be abandoned near Burke Road.
Police swiftly arrived at the scene, apprehending four young males, who are currently assisting authorities with their inquiries.
