In short:
Werribee City Centre will host a summer of free family fun with outdoor movies, a pop-up traffic park and Rhyme Time sessions at the pool. The events aim to draw families back into Werribee’s heart and showcase it as Melbourne’s west’s go-to summer destination.
Summer Fun Coming to Werribee
Werribee City Centre will come alive this summer with outdoor twilight movie nights, a pop-up traffic park for kids, and Rhyme Time at the Pool — all part of a jam-packed line-up of free family fun.
Running throughout the school holidays, the activities aim to get locals outdoors and make the most of the warmer months.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw said the city centre is the perfect spot to enjoy relaxed community events.
“We welcome families to come along and join in the fun in Werribee City Centre with a range of free, family-friendly programs,” she said.
The Movies in the Park series will bring popular films to Kelly Park, Watton Street, Werribee, from November through to March. Each event will feature pre-show entertainment, encouraging visitors to grab dinner locally and settle in for a relaxed night under the stars.
Another highlight is the Pop-Up Traffic Park, running from 10 to 18 January in Kelly Park. The temporary mini-Werribee course will include traffic lights, crossings, and signage to help kids learn safe riding skills. Learn-to-ride sessions, bike mechanic demonstrations and roving performers will round out the event.
Also returning is Rhyme Time at the Pool, held at Werribee Outdoor Pool for children aged 1 to 5 years. The sessions combine songs, stories and movement to support early learning — followed by the chance to borrow books from the Pop-Up Library Van.
All activities are free, inclusive, and designed to showcase Werribee as a vibrant destination for families this summer.
