Program to Boost Confidence
Wyndham City’s Youth Services is continuing its free Social Barber program for young people aged 13 to 22, offering haircuts, food and a space to connect every Wednesday during the school term in Truganina.
The sessions run from 4pm to 6pm at Arndell Park Community Centre on Federation Boulevard, with professional barbers providing free haircuts on a first come, first served basis.
Alongside the haircuts, young people can spend time with friends, play games on a big screen and speak with youth workers in an informal environment.
The program is aimed at supporting young people who may be experiencing financial hardship, social isolation or barriers to employment and education.
Youth workers and barbers are also able to connect participants with additional support services where needed, while pizza and refreshments are provided during the sessions.
Transport to nearby train stations is also available through a Wyndham City bus service.
If demand exceeds available appointment times, haircuts will be carried over to the following Wednesday.
Upcoming sessions will be held on 27 May 2026 and 3 June 2026.
The Free Social Barber program is held at Arndell Park Community Centre, 29-49 Federation Boulevard, Truganina.
