In Wyndham, the opening of Good News Lutheran College‘s new P–12 campus on the corner of Plane Avenue and Barrabool Boulevard, Mambourin will be a major asset for the area, with the school set to be ready for the 2025 school year. Mambourin sits between Manor Lakes and Little River.
The campus is estimated to provide accommodation for up to 1500 students and will be surrounded by a shopping centre, a train station, and performing arts facilities.
The opening of a new school in the next two years will provide a major boost to the area, which is projected to house 4000 people by 2026.
The school, which is currently enrolling three classes in the Tarneit campus, has been described by Principal Fiona McAuliffe as a chance to reach more families in a growth corridor, with an emphasis on faith, purpose, and values of grace, integrity, courage and respect.
Frasers Property Australia General Manager expressed excitement for the school‘s presence in the new suburb, noting that it will provide local families with greater choice and convenience.
The school‘s opening comes at a time when Wyndham City Council is appealing to the government to build more schools to meet the municipality‘s booming population.
