Housing Development to Start This Year
A 26-townhouse development in Tarneit has been approved after Wyndham councillors voted in favour of the proposal at the 12 May Planning Committee meeting.
The project at 30 Resort Boulevard will see 26 double-storey townhouses built on a vacant 5,798sqm site near Sewells Creek and Club Alamora.
The development includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, along with internal roads, landscaping and 54 car parking spaces.
The application was originally submitted in May 2025 as a 28-dwelling proposal before being revised down to 26 dwellings following planning concerns and requests for changes from council officers.
Under state planning rules applying to the Riverdale Precinct Structure Plan area, the application was exempt from public notice, meaning nearby residents were not formally notified and no objections were lodged.
The development also includes a reduced three-metre setback along Resort Boulevard instead of the standard four metres ordinarily required under townhouse planning standards.
The site borders a drainage reserve and future childcare centre, with plans including pedestrian pathways along the northern boundary and private waste collection arrangements.
Civil works are expected to begin in June 2026, with townhouse construction planned from December 2026.
