In short:

Wyndham City is calling on residents to help shape its next Accessibility and Inclusion Plan for 2026–2030. Community feedback will guide future priorities for a more inclusive, accessible Wyndham.

Help Council Improve Disability Access

Wyndham City is developing its next Accessibility and Inclusion Plan for 2026–2030 and wants community input on how to make the city more inclusive for everyone.

Mayor Cr Mia Shaw said feedback from people with lived experience of disability, carers, and advocates will help shape the plan.

“This plan will guide how we build a more inclusive, accessible, and supportive Wyndham City for all members of our community,” Cr Shaw said.

“If you have a lived experience of disability, are a carer, advocate or community member passionate about inclusion – we invite you to share your voice.”

The existing plan, which includes a vision and four key pillars, is now open for review to ensure it reflects the community’s current needs and priorities.

Wyndham City says the new plan will align with legislative requirements and the Wyndham Community Vision, aiming to further the city’s progress towards a more inclusive future.

Recent achievements include the introduction of the Sunflower Initiative across Wyndham City facilities in 2024 to increase awareness of hidden disabilities, the creation of the Wyndham Disability Services Network in 2024, and a joint training program in 2025 to raise awareness of family violence prevention for women with disability.

Residents can share feedback at one of two community sessions or online before 7 December:

  • 13 November, 10am–11am (Online) – Details on The Loop

  • 26 November, 6.30pm–8pm (Civic Centre, 45 Princes Hwy, Werribee)
