In short:
New fuel price warnings are now live across Victoria, flagging the most expensive petrol stations in real time. Wyndham drivers are among those most affected as high fuel costs continue to impact car-dependent suburbs.
New Warning Targets Pricey Petrol
New fuel price visibility changes are now live in Victoria, with motorists being directly alerted to the most expensive petrol stations in their area.
From 13 April 2026, a ‘Highest Price’ warning has been added to the Servo Saver feature within the Service Victoria app.
The alert appears in red when users open the tool, identifying the highest-priced fuel retailers nearby or along common routes.
Lower-priced stations continue to be highlighted in green, maintaining the existing focus on finding cheaper options.
The update shifts the tool beyond simply listing low prices, instead drawing attention to the gap between the cheapest and most expensive fuel in real time.

It aims to give motorists a clearer picture of pricing differences across suburbs and along commuting corridors.
The changes follow fuel price reporting laws introduced in March, which require petrol stations to submit updated prices daily and restrict how frequently those prices can be increased.
Compliance activity has also increased, with more than $80,000 in fines issued to over 25 retailers since 10 March for failing to report prices.
Additional updates to the app interface include clearer visibility of available fuel types at each location, allowing users to more easily identify where specific fuels are stocked.
The rollout comes as fuel prices remain elevated, with outer suburban areas such as Wyndham particularly exposed due to long commuting distances and limited public transport alternatives.
Many households in these areas rely on daily car travel, amplifying the impact of ongoing price pressures.
Fuel pricing data collected through the system is being shared with Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to support monitoring and enforcement.
