Home Invasion: Hoppers Crossing Gang Crime Arrests

Hoppers Crossing Gang Crime

After a targeted incident in Hoppers Crossing last week caused three men to suffer nonlife threatening injuries, detectives from the Gang Crime Squad have arrested two men in St Albans and Tarneit.

The Special Operations Group, Dog Squad and North West Metro Regional Crime Squad were also involved in the arrests.

The charges follow a home invasion where a car was driven into the garage of a residence on Bayview Crescent in Hoppers Crossing about 8.45pm on Tuesday 21 March. A number of people from the car and at the property were then involved in an altercation.

A 21-year-old St Albans man was charged with affray, firearm and drug related offences, while a 19-year-old St Albans man was charged with affray. They will be facing Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today. A 17-year-old Tarneit boy was interviewed and released, pending further enquiries.

With the help of ND3 Offender Management, Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit and Divisional Response Unit, warrants were executed at these three residential addresses, at which point a semi-automatic handgun and drugs of dependence were seized from one of the St Albans houses.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the incident or has information contact Crime Stoppers or submit a confidential report online.
