Blaze Erupts on Lentara Crescent, Leading to Arrest of 37-Year-Old Man
Wyndham Vale, August 12, 2023 – A fire broke out on Saturday morning, engulfing a yard and two properties on Lentara Crescent in Wyndham Vale. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene at approximately 8.50 am, battling the blaze that also spread to nearby gum trees.
Residents of the affected properties were evacuated promptly, ensuring their safety. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Authorities are currently investigating the origins of the fire, seeking to determine its exact cause.
During their investigations, police made a startling discovery. A hydroponic setup, along with a significant number of plants, had been destroyed by the fire. The extent of the setup and the plants indicated a potential illicit operation on the premises.
Amid the chaos, a 37-year-old Wyndham Vale resident was apprehended by the police at the scene. The man is currently under custody and is cooperating with law enforcement officials as they continue their inquiries into the incident.
