Wyndham City Mayor Councillor Susan McIntyre expressed the community’s overwhelming embrace of the event when it was first held last year, describing it as a “wonderful winter night filled with warm smiles from children and families.” This year’s edition promises to be even more spectacular, with a larger venue to accommodate an expanded array of activities. Mayor McIntyre encourages families to mark the date in their calendars and support the local stallholders and performers while enjoying this fantastic community gathering.

Stallholder applications are now being accepted, with a particular emphasis on local artisans, designers, growers, and entrepreneurs, especially those residing in or connected to Tarneit. To ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event, certain road closures and traffic changes will be implemented around the park. Specifically, Wickford Road will be closed between Penrose Promenade and Tarneit Road from 3 pm to 9:30 pm. Emergency vehicles will still have access, and Bus route 167 will continue to service the bus stop outside the shopping centre.

The FIREFLY Night Market is part of the Meet Me in Tarneit series of events, supported by the Tarneit Suburban Revitalization Program in collaboration with the Victorian Government and endorsed by the Tarneit Revitalization Board.

The Tarneit Revitalization Program aims to create a beloved Tarneit community known for its vibrant public spaces, lively civic centre, and thriving business ecosystem.
