Two men have been arrested after police located drugs, prohibited weapons and cash during an intercept in Point Cook last night.
Patrolling police officers intercepted three cars on Newminster Way after reports of suspicious vehicles in the area around 8.40pm.
A subsequent search of the vehicles allegedly located two firearms, a taser, knuckle dusters, approximately 25kg of dried tobacco and nearly $37,000 in cash.
A 44-year-old Box Hill North man has been charged with handle stolen goods, possess prohibited weapon x 2, deal property suspected proceeds of crime x 2, and fail to store ammunition correctly.
He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 25 October.
A 25-year-old Bundoora man has been charged with possess tobacco products reckless to defrauding the revenue, deal property suspected proceeds of crime, and possess controlled weapon without excuse.
He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 15 March.
