Investigation Underway After Point Cook Assault

Point Cook Assault

Two Men Assault Victim in Targeted Incident

Westgate detectives are currently looking into an assault case that transpired in Point Cook at the end of October. According to reports, two individuals visited a residence on Flatbush Avenue around 8:30 pm on October 26.

The suspects reportedly disabled the power supply to the property and patiently waited for the victim, a 44-year-old man, to emerge and inspect the power box. Allegedly, the two men physically assaulted the victim before brandishing a handgun and pointing it at him.

Following the incident, the assailants departed the premises and were last observed entering a white sedan heading east on Flatbush Avenue. The victim sustained minor facial injuries during the altercation.

Authorities suspect that the same individuals had visited the address the day before on bicycles, where they tampered with the property’s power supply. However, no untoward incident occurred on that occasion as the resident was not at home.

Law enforcement classifies this incident as targeted. One of the male suspects is described as Caucasian with a substantial Australian accent, sporting a white beard, and dressed in dark clothing with a balaclava. The other male is also perceived as Caucasian with a heavy Australian accent, donned in dark clothing and a balaclava.

Investigators have released images of the two men, believing that they may possess information relevant to the case. Authorities encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV footage to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
