RAAF Museum Point Cook
Take off into more than a century of aviation history at the RAAF Museum Point Cook, located within the birthplace of Australia’s Air Force and just a short drive from central Werribee.
Set on the historic RAAF Base Point Cook, this museum offers an immersive, multi-sensory journey through the evolution of military aviation, with a collection that spans from the early days of the Australian Flying Corps in 1914to the era of fast jets and precision strike aircraft.
Following major refurbishments, the museum now features a dramatic new audio-visual experience inside its state-of-the-art Strike Hangar, officially recommissioned and unveiled to the public.
Inside, visitors can witness the raw power and significance of aircraft such as the F-111, Canberra Bomber and F/A-18 Hornet, now presented with cinematic sound, lighting, and pilot interviews that bring their stories vividly to life.

As Group Captain Robert Koops explained during the relaunch:
Step into the stories of men and women who served in war and peace, on the ground and in the skies, at home and abroad. Every aircraft is surrounded by real accounts of service, courage and innovation — from the trench-fighting pilots of WWI to the Cold War-era crews who defined Australian air power.
The museum is free to visit, but bookings are essential for all visitors due to base access requirements. Opening hours, booking forms and entry instructions can be found on the RAAF Museum website.
Whether you’re a history lover, aviation buff, or local explorer, the RAAF Museum offers an unforgettable experience for all ages — right here in Wyndham.
