Victoria’s latest $100 million retail centre, The Sheds Tarneit, is set to open in late 2024. Prominently situated on the Tarneit and Kenning Roads intersection, McDonald’s will be one of the key anchors of the 4.7ha development, with a Coles supermarket and Liquorland store also included.

The 13,100 sqm town centre will feature speciality food stores, hospitality venues, a childcare centre, a medical facility and a fuel station. Half of the centre’s sites are already committed according to leasing agent Steve Fein at Teska Carson. The suburb of Tarneit is experiencing rapid growth with 3,000 new lots scheduled to be delivered in the surrounding area.

Wyndham’s population is expected to grow 62.19% from 316,048 in 2022 to 512,591 people in 2041. New schools, roads and sporting facilities are being planned.

Lachlan Thompson, CEO of developer Goldfields, spoke of the timing of the project. “The fact that we’ve already secured two major national brands as anchor tenants shows the market shares our confidence in this much-needed offering that will support the growth of Tarneit in years to come,” he said.

McDonald’s head of property in Victoria, Laura Marriot-Smith, expressed her excitement in continuing the partnership with Goldfields. “We are excited to expand our offering in Melbourne’s rapidly expanding western corridor, one of the fastest-growing communities in the country,” she said.
