The Point Cook Library in Wyndham is offering an extended schedule until the end of June with the Libraries After Dark program.
From Thursday evenings until 9pm, the community can take advantage of the library‘s free programs and events. Cr Jasmine Hill, portfolio holder for Wyndham City Learning City, said that visitors can enjoy the library‘s usual services as well as talk to staff, borrow books, use a computer, and relax in the welcoming space.
The first activity at Libraries After Dark was a Book Club Kit Selection Night, which was a hit with lots of networking and discussion. Other activities lined up include Introduction to Street Photography, Reading After Dark for adults, and a late–night session of Craft and Conversation.
The highlight, however, will be Jessica Dettmann in conversation with Sally Hepworth – In Person and Online on March 30th, where the author will discuss her new romantic comedy ‘Without Further Ado‘.
Funded by the State Government, the Libraries After Dark initiative seeks to increase social connections and reduce social isolation, which is a well–known risk factor for gambling harm. For more information, please visit the Wyndham City website.
