Presented by Wyndham City, this free light show will create wonderous landscapes to explore, with a breathtaking laser show and rainbow sky canopy, interactive projections, a magical glowing nature trail and more.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said the event would build on the success of last year’s event – which attracted more than 28,000 people.
“This year, the program is even bigger and better; capturing the same sense of joy and playfulness that makes LIT so special, but with a fresh new program of light installations and immersive experiences.”
“Whether you came last year, or you’re planning to see LIT for the first time, the experience will offer something new and delightful.”
Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud encouraged residents to experience the wonder of LIT during its 10-night season.
“This year’s program will feature a high-energy laser show beamed every half hour and alternating with a rainbow sky canopy stretching over the lawn, light-drenched trees with sparkling mirror balls and Cortex – an illuminated inflatable mangrove forest.”
“We’re also thrilled to be working with Wyndham artist, Rukz One to create Admix –trail of gobo projections to explore”, Cr Mahfoud said.
Other highlights will include The Great Escape – featuring an 800metre trail of glowing night creatures as they emerge from a magical wardrobe, a pulsing light-filled lawn and Human Effect by Yandell Walton – a shifting, growing canvas with projections of native plants that respond to touch.
LIT will be open from 8pm to 11pm each night.
“It’s the perfect chance to make a night of it and enjoy dinner in Werribee City Centre with local restaurants, bars, pubs, and takeaway options just a short stroll away”, Cr Mahfoud said.
