Road upgrade works on Old Melbourne Road, Rothwell Road and McLeans Road in Little River have been completed, delivering new sealed lanes, shoulders and drainage improvements.
The $8.5 million Council project involved a full rebuild of Old Melbourne Road between Little River and Little River Road, as well as Rothwell Road between Old Melbourne Road and McLeans Road.
The works replace previously lower-standard sections of road with sealed surfaces designed to improve driving conditions.
For motorists in Little River, the upgrades mean smoother journeys, improved road safety and reduced wear on vehicles, particularly for those regularly travelling between Little River, Werribee and surrounding areas.
Improved drainage is also expected to reduce flooding and deterioration during wet weather.
Further road upgrades are planned for McLeans Road between Flinders Street and Rothwell Road, and for Rothwell Road between Flinders Street and McLeans Road. These future works are subject to funding and delivery timelines.
