"Emergency Services Unite to Save Sheep from Manhole Mishap
In an impressive display of teamwork, emergency services in Mount Cottrell successfully rescued a lost sheep that had fallen down an open manhole last night.
The unfortunate ewe, which rescuers affectionately named Shaun, found itself in a precarious situation at the intersection of Sewells and Leakes roads around 5pm.

Upon hearing its distressed bleats, a group of local police, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) and State Emergency Service workers were assembled by the Wyndham City Council. Together, they devised a plan to extricate the sheep from its predicament.
The rescuers constructed a makeshift sling and were able to hoist Shaun from the two-metre-deep pit to safety. The origin of the sheep remains unknown, but it has since been placed under the care of a council ranger who will ensure its return to its flock.
