Major Train Disruptions Ahead

Werribee Station Train

Metro Tunnel Works Cause Disruptions

Wyndham commuters are being urged to plan ahead, with major disruptions to train services affecting the Werribee, Williamstown and Geelong lines between 7 July and 12 July.

Passengers travelling on the Werribee and Williamstown lines will face a mix of replacement buses and altered train services as scheduled maintenance is carried out across the network.

From 8.30pm on 7 July, replacement buses will operate between North Melbourne and Laverton and on the Williamstown Line until 11.30pm.

During that time, Werribee trains will continue to run direct between Newport and Laverton, meaning they will not stop at Seaholme, Altona or Westona.

Passengers travelling to or from those stations will need to use replacement buses between Newport and Laverton.

From 11.30pm on 7 July until the last service on 9 July, replacement buses will operate between North Melbourne, Werribee and Williamstown during the overnight period.

During the day on 8 and 9 July, and again on 10 July until 11pm, buses will once again replace trains between North Melbourne and Laverton and on the Williamstown Line.

Werribee trains will continue to operate directly between Newport and Laverton throughout those daytime disruptions.

Limited express buses will also run from Newport to North Melbourne between 6am and 10am to help morning commuters travelling towards the city.

From 11pm on 10 July until the last service on 12 July, replacement buses will operate between North Melbourne, Newport and Williamstown as maintenance continues over the weekend.

Geelong Line passengers will also need to allow extra time. Due to Metro Tunnel Project works, coaches will replace trains for the entire journey between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds from 10pm until the last service on 10 July.

On 11 July, buses will replace trains between Southern Cross and Wyndham Vale, while trains will continue to run between Wyndham Vale and Waurn Ponds.

V/Line has warned the replacement coach terminal at Southern Cross Station is expected to be extremely busy on 11 July.

Passengers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow station signage and listen for announcements. A limited number of replacement coaches will also stop at Footscray Station, while passengers travelling from Southern Cross, Footscray, Sunshine, Deer Park or Tarneit should allow extra time to connect with regional coach services at Geelong.

Other planned works during the same period will also affect services on the Sunbury, Ballarat, Bendigo, Warrnambool, Ararat, Maryborough, Echuca and Swan Hill lines.

Passengers are encouraged to check the latest temporary timetables before travelling and allow additional time for their journey throughout the disruption period.
