Police apprehended a man after an altercation at Manor Lakes Shopping Centre on December 12.
Allegedly under the influence of drugs, the individual assaulted a security guard inside the Ballan Road complex around 10:30 pm.
The security guard received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The situation escalated, leading the police to use OC spray as the aggressor bit two officers during the arrest attempt.
The arrested individual has been taken to the hospital for evaluation. Both the police officers and the injured security guard have received medical attention.
