Police are investigating an attack where a man was stabbed and later rushed to hospital after being set upon at Port Phillip Prison in Truganina.
An altercation at the state’s largest maximum security prison caused emergency services to be called at 11.20 am on Sunday.
According to Ambulance Victoria, a man suffered serious upper body injuries and was transported to hospital at around 12pm.
Police say they are investigating an alleged stabbing at the correctional facility.
In a statement provided by Victoria Police, the 39-year-old man was treated for “non-life-threatening injuries” and detectives were investigating the incident.
